Andaman Expedition is built around a practical distinction: the island you want to see and the place where you spend the night may be different. A marine park excursion from the mainland asks different questions from a week on Lanta or a small-island stay reached by boat.

Read the journey in three parts

Start with the gateway region, use the island guide to understand the visit, then compare accommodation that fits that plan. Our coverage includes Phi Phi Don, Lanta Yai, Lipe, the Similan and Surin national parks, Kradan, Ngai, Rok, Tarutao and Phayam.

Each guide concentrates on decisions specific to that destination. Hotel reviews examine the actual property setting, accommodation choices and attributed guest observations. A mainland departure base is described as such; it is not presented as accommodation inside a marine park.

An independent travel publication

We do not operate boats, tours, hotels or park facilities. These articles draw on identifiable destination, property and guest sources, without claiming personal stays or visits. The purpose is to explain useful differences, including constraints that a destination photograph can leave out.
