At AKIRA Lipe Resort, a pool-access room can be convenient without being the room closest to the beach. A guest account from an August 2026 stay makes that distinction clearly, praising the pool connection while describing a position towards the back of the property. The resort’s own room catalogue helps explain the choice: view, direct access and additional private space are separate features.
Compare access and view within the same room size
The official Superior Pool Access and Superior Pool View categories are both listed at 44 square metres. The access room includes a private balcony with a daybed and direct connection to the pool. The view category offers its own terrace and seating overlooking the water. The meaningful difference is not a large jump in the stated room area, but how the private outdoor space relates to the shared pool.
That gives a swimmer a concrete reason to compare the access category, while leaving the view room relevant to someone who mainly wants to sit outside. A balcony over a pool should not be described as direct pool access unless that is the named category. The same distinction applies even when both rooms appear beside the same stretch of water in the resort photography.
Deluxe and villa choices add another layer
The Deluxe Pool Access and Deluxe Pool View categories are listed at 52 square metres, making them a larger room-size comparison with the Superior range. The access description says the pool runs alongside the building and identifies seating both inside and on the private balcony. It is a shared-water arrangement, not a private plunge pool belonging to the room.
The Villa Suite is listed at 59 square metres with a separate living area, and the resort describes it as near the pool and beach. This gives it a distinct purpose for a traveller who values private sitting space. It should not be confused with buying the same room as a Superior category merely because both offer access to the resort’s shared facilities.

A guest’s room can be farther back than expected
The August 2026 Trip.com traveller praised the convenience of their pool-access room but said its position was well back from reception and the beach side. That account is room-specific; it does not establish that every pool-access booking has the same approach. It does show why someone prioritising the beach should compare both the room category and its position within the property.
An Expedia review posted in March 2026 praised a spacious room with direct pool access and was positive about breakfast and location. These accounts fit together rather than cancelling one another. The pool connection can be a genuine benefit, while the distance through the resort remains a separate consideration for a particular room and guest.
Pattaya Beach and the pool serve different parts of the stay
AKIRA is sold as a resort on Koh Lipe’s Pattaya Beach, with a beachfront pool and additional pools associated with the Superior and Deluxe buildings in its own destination description. That arrangement is useful for someone who expects to alternate between the beach setting and resort pool time. It does not make every bedroom a beachfront bedroom.
For a short Lipe visit, AKIRA has a clear room-comparison framework: Superior versus Deluxe for stated space, Pool View versus Pool Access for the outdoor connection, and Villa Suite for a different private living arrangement. The guest evidence adds the important qualification that a useful pool terrace and a convenient beach position are not necessarily the same advantage.
A traveller mainly interested in swimming at the hotel may therefore make a different choice from someone expecting to spend most of the day moving between the room and the sand. Both can use the same resort, but the right comparison is specific. Read the actual category and location together, rather than treating a beach address or a single pool photograph as the answer to every practical question.
