A private pool does not remove the stairs

The official Grand Pool Villa page describes a top-of-hill position and acknowledges the longer walk up to the room. It lists 160 square metres in total, including separate areas for the sundeck, plunge pool and living space. This is a materially different stay from a compact beachfront bungalow, but the extra private space comes with a particular location.

For a traveller who expects to spend a large part of each day in the villa, that arrangement may be exactly the attraction. A person planning frequent trips between room and beach needs to weigh the repeated route differently. Neither a generous total floor area nor the words “pool villa” establish that the accommodation has an easy or step-free approach.

Read the villa range precisely

The resort publishes both sea-view rooms and several named pool-villa categories. A Deluxe Seaview room should not be assumed to include the same pool as a Grand Pool Villa merely because the website’s general imagery includes private water. The category is important here: the stay can centre on the sea outlook without every room offering the same facilities.

The Grand Pool Villa’s published amenities include air conditioning, a refrigerator, a seating area and a separate living-room or day-room space. Those details explain why it can function as somewhere to spend time privately, rather than just a place to sleep between excursions. Its private plunge pool is another part of that villa arrangement, not a description of a large shared resort pool.

Guests describe both the outlook and the effort

A Trip.com guest account from July 2026 said their room was in the upper part of the resort and that the trip down to the beach and back was fairly long. That is consistent with the official warning about the higher villa approach, although it is still one traveller’s account of one position within the property.

A Klook account posted in April 2026 described a cliff-top villa stay and noted a small plunge pool in the room rather than a shared swimming pool, along with limited beach lounging arrangements during that visit. This is not proof of a permanent shortage of any facility, but it is useful context for someone imagining a broad, fully equipped beach-club setting from the resort name alone.

Private time and island time need different expectations

Serendipity identifies its address on Sunrise Beach. The relevant comparison is therefore not simply whether it is on Lipe, but whether this particular hillside style fits the visit. A guest seeking a villa-focused holiday, with substantial private space and a sea outlook, may value its arrangement more than someone who wants the simplest possible route between a passenger landing, a room and the sand.

The hotel’s own description is candid about the climb to the Grand Pool Villa, which gives that decision a firmer basis than a general claim of romantic seclusion. For a guest with mobility limitations, the stairs deserve attention before the view. For a traveller comfortable with that route, the separate living space and private pool provide concrete reasons to compare this category.

The strongest reason to consider Serendipity is the combination of a named villa’s space, outlook and private facilities. The strongest reason to look more carefully is the same villa’s position on the site. These are not competing descriptions of two different hotels: they are parts of one stay. Keeping both in view produces a more useful choice than treating the private-pool photograph as a promise of a flat beachfront resort.
