Phi Phi Natural Resort spreads its accommodation through gardens and up the hillside at the northern end of Phi Phi Don. A room here is not simply a standard box beside a beach. The official catalogue includes cottages with quite different internal layouts, a multibed option and two-bedroom pool villas, making location and sleeping arrangements important parts of the choice.
The cottage category changes the daily routine
Superior Cottages are described as individual wooden cottages in the gardens, with an outdoor balcony and proximity to the restaurants and massage hut. The Deluxe Cottage is a more unusual split-level design, with living room and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom above. That difference matters for anyone who dislikes moving between levels inside their accommodation.
The resort’s family offers are distinct too. A Multibed Cottage contains a king bed and two sets of bunk beds, while the two-bedroom pool villa has separate bedrooms. Sharing one sleeping space and having separate bedrooms are different solutions, even when both are advertised to families. The useful question is how the household wants to sleep and spend time indoors, rather than which label sounds more luxurious.
The setting is spread out, not a single compact block
The official accommodation description explains that rooms are scattered among coastal greenery and on higher ground, with buggy assistance mentioned in the arrival experience. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of an immediately available vehicle at any hour, or as proof that every route is accessible without steps. A room close to shared facilities and a more elevated outlook can involve a real trade-off.
A March 2026 Trip.com guest booked a mountain-view room and reported an unexpected sea outlook. They also found the room farther from the lobby and mentioned resort transport. That is evidence of the position they received, not a reason to book the lowest view category expecting an upgrade. Their account is most useful as a reminder that the specific cottage location affects the stay.
The Mountain View rooms are in buildings at a far hillside corner, beside a sea-view swimming pool. The separate Superior Room description explicitly mentions a walkway and stairs. This makes the category comparison concrete: a garden cottage and a room in the hillside buildings involve different surroundings and approaches, even before considering the bedroom furniture.

Laem Tong is a base in its own right
The source address and current resort information place Phi Phi Natural at Laem Tong rather than in Tonsai Village. This northern setting is a reason to stay for beach time and a quieter island routine. It should not be sold as a convenient walk from the main ferry arrival point simply because both lie on Phi Phi Don.
The resort’s coastline and cottage variety are stronger reasons to consider it than a list of standard amenities. Garden-oriented accommodation can suit travellers who expect to spend much of the day outdoors, while separate bedrooms or a larger terrace change how a longer family visit works. Neither a family label nor a balcony proves that the same sea view or access arrangement comes with every unit.
Guest enthusiasm still needs room-specific context
Another March 2026 guest, also in a mountain-view category, praised the quiet atmosphere, attentive staff and meals, while describing swimming at high tide as part of their experience. That comment does not establish unrestricted swimming conditions throughout the day. The shoreline remains a natural setting, and an enjoyable visit by one guest is not an assessment of sea conditions for everyone.
Phi Phi Natural makes the most sense when the northern part of the island is the intended holiday setting. Its cottages offer meaningful choices in layout and separation, but the extensive grounds ask more of guests than a town hotel beside the pier. A family needing shared beds, a couple wanting garden privacy and a group needing two bedrooms should therefore compare different parts of the catalogue, not just different prices for the same assumed room.
