Phi Phi The Beach Resort places its villas on the hillside behind Long Beach. The setting offers a different holiday from staying beside Tonsai Pier: the beach and the villa outlook become the focus, while movement to town needs more thought. Room names describe different views and positions, and the hillside is part of the stay rather than a decorative detail.
The view categories are not identical rooms
The official accommodation page lists Superior Villas, Superior with Partial Sea View Villas, Grand Sea View Deluxe Villas, Sea View Deluxe Villas and Front Side Deluxe Villas. It describes private balconies and paths leading to the restaurant and pools. A partial-view category should not be read as a guarantee of the same outlook as the grand sea-view option.
The separate room pages state 31 square metres for a Superior Villa and 42 square metres for a Superior with Partial Sea View Villa. That makes the comparison more useful than a photograph alone: the latter is described with additional space as well as a different view label. The listed balcony, air conditioning and shower are room facilities, not proof that every unit has identical positioning on the slope.
The Partial Sea View Villa page specifically includes a sun bed on the private balcony, an in-room safe and a refrigerator. The balcony can therefore be part of how a guest actually uses that 42-square-metre category, rather than just the place from which its marketing photograph was taken. Those details support comparing a villa for time spent outdoors at the room as well as for its bed and sea-view label.
Long Beach and the central village ask different things of a stay
The resort identifies Long Beach as its setting. It is a sensible choice when time beside the sand matters more than stepping into a dense cluster of village restaurants. Conversely, someone who expects to spend most evenings in Tonsai needs to think about the return journey, rather than counting the two areas as the same hotel neighbourhood.
The property’s hillside accommodation also means that a sea view can come with a different path to meals and the water. The official page confirms the paths, but does not provide a room-by-room accessibility assessment. A guest who wants minimal climbing has a more specific requirement than simply booking the category with the broadest advertised view.

Arrival transfers are not a general shuttle promise
A September 2026 Trip.com family guest in a Garden View Superior Villa praised the setting and dinner, but said the complimentary shuttle applied to check-in and checkout only. Their quoted taxi-boat fares are not treated here as current prices. The useful distinction is between the arrival service and repeated outings during the stay.
The resort’s current promotion information also lists a Tonsai transfer for check-in and checkout among its included benefits. Inclusions remain dependent on the actual reservation or package. It would be misleading to turn that limited arrival arrangement into a promise that every boat journey to the village is free, or that it operates whenever an individual guest chooses.
A villa stay with shared facilities at the beach
The official site lists pools, a children’s play area, restaurant, beach pub, massage and sea activities. These help explain the resort’s appeal for visitors who want a beach holiday rather than a quick overnight stop. They are different from having a private pool at the villa, which should not be assumed from the existence of shared swimming facilities.
For a couple or family comfortable with the hillside setting, the useful choice is among space, outlook and the route back from the beach. Someone who prefers central-village convenience is comparing a different kind of stay. Phi Phi The Beach Resort has a clear location-led proposition; its strongest match is a traveller deliberately choosing Long Beach and accepting that the villa, the shore and the boat journey form one plan.
