SAii Phi Phi Island Village is a Loh Bagao Bay resort rather than a hotel beside the main Tonsai arrival area. That distinction matters more than the word “village” in its name. The property combines beach access, bungalow and villa accommodation, dining and marine activities, while trips to the island’s busier centre remain a separate part of the plan.

Arriving at the resort is a separate decision

The resort’s official arrival information offers organised speedboat services from Phuket and identifies Royal Phuket Marina and Krabi’s River Marina as transfer points. These are resort transfer arrangements, not a claim that every public ferry delivers passengers to the hotel. A Tonsai arrival should be planned with the final boat connection in mind rather than treated as the end of the journey.

The transfer page also says that operation and schedules can change. For this particular resort, a mainland airport, a pier and the resort beach are three distinct stages. That helps explain why a longer stay can make more sense than a single overnight visit: the arrival effort is being used for time in Loh Bagao, not simply a bed between two boat departures.

Bungalows, villas and hillside accommodation are different offers

The current accommodation catalogue separates garden bungalows, garden and sea-view villas, a beachfront junior suite and hillside pool villas. A Deluxe Garden Bungalow is described with its own balcony and garden outlook. It is therefore a different proposition from paying for a beach-facing position or a private pool higher on the slope.

A two-bedroom family bungalow and two-bedroom ocean-view hillside pool villa are also listed. The useful comparison for a family is the actual arrangement and location of that category, rather than assuming that every villa contains multiple bedrooms. A group wanting shared space has a different decision from a couple who mainly wants a balcony between beach outings.

The grounds give a stay its own focus

SAii identifies several dining venues and a Marine Discovery Centre, alongside diving and other island activities. Those facilities create options for days spent within the resort rather than repeatedly travelling back to Tonsai. They do not turn Phi Phi Leh or Maya Bay into places reached on foot; an excursion to the smaller island remains a boat trip with its own access conditions.

A December 2025 Trip.com guest in a two-bedroom ocean-view hillside pool villa praised the outlook and prompt service, while noting that they had not tried breakfast. The room and service comments are useful within that stay’s limits. They are not evidence about the breakfast experience or a guarantee that a garden bungalow has the same outlook.

The Marine Discovery Centre is more specific than a general activities desk. Its four areas cover sharks, the Phi Phi islands, clownfish and an auditorium, with interactive displays about regional marine life. The published programme includes beach cleaning, coral propagation and guided learning about sharks and clownfish, with reservations made through the centre. For a family interested in the sea beyond swimming, this educational focus is a concrete reason to compare SAii with a smaller beach hotel.

A bay stay, rather than a town-centre stay

Another Trip.com guest, staying in a Deluxe Garden Villa in July 2025, liked the breakfast variety, room design and quiet surroundings, and described a small village behind the resort as an alternative place to eat. That provides a more specific picture than calling the hotel isolated or suggesting that its restaurants are the only possible choice.

Loh Bagao is still the organising point for this holiday. Choosing it makes sense when beach time and the resort’s facilities are important; it asks more planning of someone who wants the central village’s restaurants and evening activity every day. The range of accommodation means SAii can suit quite different groups, but the bay, room setting and arrival route need to be chosen together.
